SIPPO Morocco Supports a major Milestone for Sustainability in Morocco’s Agri-Food Sector
Morocco marked a historic milestone by hosting, for the first time in Africa, the 19th meeting of the OECD Heads of Inspection Services for Fruits and Vegetables. This landmark event underscored the country’s growing commitment in sustainability within the agri-food sector, particularly when Morocco Foodex seizes this occasion to officially launch, the Morocco Sustain Food Standard (MSFS): a credible and robust national sustainability label.
Within this framework, SIPPO Morocco provided targeted support focused on strengthening institutional and human capacities. Through a dedicated Training of Trainers, SIPPO Morocco supported the preparation and certification of Morocco Foodex auditors across core sustainability dimensions, ensuring the reliability and international credibility of the standard.
This capacity-building effort represents a long-term investment, with continued support planned into 2026, to further consolidate Morocco Foodex’s role in promoting sustainable and competitive agri-food exports.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of 22 Moroccan companies that were awarded MSFS trophies and certificates following successful audits conducted by Morocco Foodex, reflecting concrete progress toward more sustainable agri-food value chains.
