Access to importer networks in Switzerland and the EU
Mastering the "last mile" - where supply and demand meet - is one of the key challenges for exporting companies in emerging and developing countries. SIPPO supports BSOs in preparing export-ready companies in their countries and promotes successful cooperation with importer networks in Switzerland and the EU.
To this end, SIPPO is developing importer network mappings for Switzerland and Europe for each sector. The aim of this initiative is to create stronger links between the SIPPO country teams, their BSOs and key import markets.
Members of the Global Services Team support the SIPPO country teams and BSOs at key events, especially important trade fairs, by facilitating activities to gain insights into market access, sustainability and importer networks.
The members of the SIPPO Advisory Board also play a key role in supporting these efforts, backed up by the extensive network of SIPPO consultants. The insights gained from these activities will help facilitate interactions between BSO members and key stakeholders in the Swiss private sector, for example through the SIPPO Import Promotion Forum. This interaction will promote a deeper understanding of business and strengthen links between SIPPO countries and importer networks in Switzerland and possibly the EU.
Finally, the annual SIPPO Import Promotion Forum facilitates exchanges on trade-related issues between BSOs in the SIPPO countries and Swiss importer networks and import promotion organisations. It brings together BSOs from the SIPPO countries with these importer networks from Switzerland and possibly Europe that are active in the SIPPO sectors, with procurement and category managers from major retailers and with sector experts.
