SIPPO supports BSO Invest North Macedonia for the national pavilion at Pure Origin 2022
SIPPO North Macedonia provided support and capacity development to the BSO Invest North Macedonia in organizing a national pavilion at the Pure Origin 2022 trade fair. This trade fair for the Value-Added Textile sector was held in July 2022 in London, UK.
With the support of SIPPO North Macedonia, BSO Invest North Macedonia conducted an extensive preparation process for five Macedonian textile companies that were already selected in 2019. From the beginning, the entire Export Promotion team was involved in the process, which included the development of numerous tools that will help the BSO improve its service to the business sector.
Variety of activities
Some of the activities undertaken to prepare the BSO and the companies for the trade fair included training on how to use LinkedIn to generate new business leads, sales training (direct sales) for trade fairs; support in definition of USPs (Unique Selling Propositions) of the BSO and its companies, support in the process of designing and branding the Macedonian national pavilion; company visits and consulting on the development of marketing materials (banners, stickers, selection of samples, etc.) as well as the introduction of sustainability key points for each company to be display and communicate before and during the fair.
Newly created tools
Some tools were created for the first time as part of the preparation for the Pure Origin 2022 fair https://www.purelondon.com/, such as the introduction of a pilot version of an information package. This is a detailed booklet designed to help the private sector prepare for participation in a trade fair. This brochure contains all the necessary information (logistical, travel, business) that will serve the companies as a guiding tool when starting their preparation for a business event. In addition, a form to create a generic profile for participants is used for various business events, providing BSOs with the necessary information to prepare marketing materials, press releases, promotional materials (printed and digital), etc. Finally, a complete and comprehensive action plan with a detailed list of activities and tasks has been prepared. It will be used for the organization of different export promotion activities.
The participation of the BSO and the companies in the trade fair resulted in more than 110 meetings with potential buyers. BSO Invest North Macedonia had the opportunity to network and meet with a number of similar or related BSOs from other European countries. One of these meetings - with a Polish BSO – led to the organization of a trade mission for the BSO and Macedonian companies to Poland in September 2022. While this is in a sector that is not supported by SIPPO, the networking at the fair made this trade mission possible.
