SIPPO Import Promotion Forum: Exchange between BSOs and Swiss importer networks

SIPPO's Import Promotion Forum, in a new format, facilitates the exchange between BSOs in SIPPO countries and Swiss importer networks and import promotion organisations on trade-related issues. It brings together BSOs from SIPPO countries with these importer networks active in the SIPPO sectors, procurers and category managers from major retailers and sector experts. See the video about this great event here.

SIPPO's Import Promotion Forum has a long tradition. It has served and will continue to serve as an important instrument for bridging the critical last mile from export-oriented BSOs and their members to the importer networks in Switzerland and Europe. In this way, the Import Promotion Forum promotes the development of sustainable, effective trade networks that are independent of SIPPO. It brings together BSOs representing export-ready companies in SIPPO countries with importer networks from Switzerland and thus supports the search for new sources of supply for sustainable products and services.

At this year's event in June 2024, over 50 representatives of BSOs were among the more than 130 participants who assembled at the Swiss Technology Convention Center at the renown École Polytechnique Fédérale (EPFL) in Lausanne.

The keynote speeches, panel discussions and breakout sessions all focused on two themes:

  • Sustainability: How can the growing demands for sustainable production and trade be met in future, given the new and stricter regulations in the EU and Switzerland?
  • Digitalisation: How can digitalisation support this focus on sustainability?
