SIPPO's Import Promotion Forum has a long tradition. It has served and will continue to serve as an important instrument for bridging the critical last mile from export-oriented BSOs and their members to the importer networks in Switzerland and Europe. In this way, the Import Promotion Forum promotes the development of sustainable, effective trade networks that are independent of SIPPO. It brings together BSOs representing export-ready companies in SIPPO countries with importer networks from Switzerland and thus supports the search for new sources of supply for sustainable products and services.
"For Trade Networks that work"
The new concept of the SIPPO Import Forum, piloted in 2023, has been viewed positive by all relevant stakeholder and will be continued and improved in 2024. Invitations to the forum are issued on a personal basis.
The Programme
This year's SIPPO Import Promotion Forum will take place on 12 June 2024 from 13.30-16.30 at the SwissTech Convention Center at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. The main topic is "For trade networks that work: Identifying and addressing regulations impacting trade".
The programme will include BSO peer-to-peer round tables, the SIPPO Advisory Board Meeting and a workshop-style Forum with a keynote speech in plenary, followed by parallel breakout session on topics suggested by the SIPPO Country Teams in consultation with the BSOs. The event will close with one-to-one sessions between BSOs and members of Swiss Import Promotion Networks & companies.
On the following day, BSOs will have the opportunity to visit companies from the relevant sectors in the Lausanne-Zurich-St-Gallen area and to discuss topics of interest with the company representatives. Most SIPPO Country Teams are planning further activities with their participating BSOs to capitalise on their presence in Europe.
