Water

Switzerland is a country rich in water resources. Six percent of Europe’s fresh water supply is stored in the Swiss Alps. The Gotthard massif in the centre of the Swiss Alps is a continental divide. From here the Rhine River flows to the North Sea, the Rhone River to the western Mediterranean, the Ticino (Po) to the Adriatic Sea, and the Inn (Danube) to the Black Sea.
