Moreover, these sustainable and organic products permit direct poverty reduction, since the farmers themselves achieve premium prices as well as the middlemen, processors and exporters. Certifications in the fields of processing, packaging and traceability, such as HACCP, BRC, IFS or ISO 22000, guarantee the European importers’ requisites for food safety, quality, etc.
