A varied array of high-quality creative confectionery products will be presented by the 17 Swiss exhibitors in the «SWISS Pavilion» organised by Osec in Hall 4.2 at ISM 2009. The products on show will range from luxury chocolate, delicate wafers and biscuits to unusual sweets and functional chewing gums. Numerous new developments will again ensure new impetus on the confectionery shelf in 2009.
Switzerland has the potential to create up to 120,000 new jobs in the next ten to fifteen years if it can convince a significant number of Asian companies to set up regional headquarters within its borders. A new study by McKinsey & Company, Osec and the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce examines how the Swiss can attract entrepreneurs as well as established corporations from the Far East and outlines the considerable benefits for both sides.
At Osec, the official Swiss promoter of foreign trade, the open position of Global Market manager has been filled: from 19th January 2009 Markus Wyss, as a member of the managing board, will be responsible for consultancy, which covers the SECO mandates of promoting exports and Switzerland as a business location.
To enable Swiss service providers in the health sector to make maximum use of their business potential abroad, Osec and Swiss Tourism are establishing the “Swiss Health” Association. A study conducted by the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute shows that “Medical Tourism” is growing throughout the world and that there is a need to act in Switzerland with regard to marketing Health Services abroad.
From 23 to 27 November 2008 the Big 5 Show construction and infrastructure trade fair will be taking place in Dubai. Twelve Swiss companies from the construction sector will be presenting their products and services to a wide specialist public in the «SWISS Pavilion» organised by Osec.
As Osec has been taking on the new duties of import and investment promotion, as well as promoting Location Switzerland alongside exports since 2008, Osec’s website was recently re-launched. The new website is aimed at simpler user prompting, making it easier for the visitor to obtain the best information.
Throughout the world, Swiss food enjoys an excellent reputation. It is a byword for tasty, unadulterated, high-quality products. At SIAL 2008, 35 exhibitors – under the general aegis of Osec and Switzerland Cheese Marketing AG and representing different food sectors - will be presenting the Swiss food industry in all its great variety. Traditional and regional specialities will of course be there to delight the palate – but visitors can expect numerous new items as well.
Seven Swiss companies will be present at Cosmoprof Asia, to be held from 12th to 14th November 2008 in Hong Kong, to exhibit top-of-the-market products accompanied by a wide range of services in the cosmetics sector. The «SWISS Pavilion», organised by Osec, will be there, with the focus clearly on beauty.
BIO 2008, one of the most important biotechnology trade fairs, is being held this year in San Diego (USA). The foreign trade promoter, Osec, is organising a joint "SWISS Pavilion" stand, where, from 17th to 20th June, 10 Swiss companies will present a variety of products and services from the biotechnology sector under the umbrella brand, "Switzerland.".
The share of private labels on the international consumer goods market has risen steadily over recent years. In this context more and more retail companies are utilising the excellent quality and good reputation of Swiss products to strengthen their profile.
Looking good and feeling great is of increasing concern to many con-sumers. Swiss cosmetics and care products are playing a big part in this growth industry. At Cosmoprof 2008, which runs from 10 to 14 April 2008 in Bologna, 11 Swiss companies will present their innovations at the "SWISS Pavilion", organised by Osec (official Swiss trade promotion agency).
In two "SWISS Pavilions" at Gulfood 2008, which will be held from 24 to 27 February 2008 in Dubai, eight Swiss manufacturers will be presenting selected products for a demanding target group. In addition to high-quality food and drink products for the retail trade and catering industry four exhibitors will be represented with various specialities from the non-food sector.
At Arab Health 2008, the biggest medical fair in the Arab region, the "SWISS Pavilion" organised by Osec will once again serve as a platform for presenting Swiss products and services from the healthcare sector. Between 28 and 31 January 2008 16 Swiss companies will be showing what they have to offer under the banner of Swiss Quality at the highest level.
Innovative and enjoyment-oriented – this is how the Swiss exhibitors are jointly presenting themselves at the ISM 2008 Confectionery Fair, which will take place between 27 and 30 January 2008. In Hall 4.2 at the "SWISS Pavilion", which is being organised by Osec, 17 confectionery specialists will be putting together a varied programme of their traditional and new products.
