Professor for Management and Entrepreneurship at the Freiburg School of Economics, having studied at the Universities of St. Gallen and Freiburg, Switzerland. His research activities are concentrated on the internationalisation of small and medium-sized businesses, innovative start-ups and the phenomenon of fast-growing businesses. He has published various books and articles, and has been the managing director of a corporate development company since the early 1990s.
