Ambassdor, Swiss Ambassador in Germany since 2006. In 1974 he joined the service of the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs. In 1980 he was transferred to Bangkok and in 1983 to Teheran, where he was promoted to Counsellor in 1985. In 1993 he was appointed Ambassador in Saudi Arabia, in the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Yemen. From 2001 to 2006 he was Swiss Ambassador in the USA.
