Franziska Tschudi studied Law at Bern and Washington D.C. and, following her initial professional experience in Bern, Zürich and Washington, completed her studies as Advocate (1984), Master of Common Law (LL.M., 1986) and admission to the US Bar as Attorney in the States of New York and Connecticut (1987).

Back in Switzerland, Franziska Tschudi worked as a commercial lawyer for Lenz & Stähelin in Geneva from 1987 to 1992.
